Brits Hesitate on New Biomass Over Sustainability Concerns

Two of Britain’s largest utilities announced a dramatic reduction in their biomass development plans, citing rising concerns over the carbon footprint of wood pellets imported from North America. A representative from the UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change said that biomass is a relatively high-cost way to address the carbon issue when compared to wind and energy conservation.
